THIS WEEK IN MUSIC...


WELCOME TO MUSIC CLASS




IMPORTANT INFO: Choir practice Wednesday 22nd at 3:00 P.M. 

NURSERY CLASS:

  • The students will echo short rhythmic patterns of the song with tambourines
  • The students will keep the beat and the rhythm of the song by playing minor percussion instruments. 


Pk-Class

  • The students will create 4 rhythmic measurements in 4/4 time signature meter using quarters notes and quarter notes rests
  • The students will complete short rhythmic patterns in 4/4 time signature meter using quarter notes and quarter note rests


Kinder Class



  • The students will review the Kodaly signs for the C scale (C,D,E,F,G)
  • The students will play the beat and rhythm of the song with minor perussion (Full song)


First Grade Class





  • The students will play the C scale (Full Scale)
  • The class will read and sing 4/4 time signature meter melodic patterns using half notes

Second Grade Classic
  • The class will continue creating melodic patterns based on C scale notes using xylophones
  • The students will practice individually of C scale notes with the Xylophones
  • The students will learn the Discovery Song (Bridge part)

Third Grade Class


  • The class will play the song “My Heart Will Go On”
  • The class will practice the "F sharp" and C sharp fingering
  • The students will listen to Discovery Song. (Bridge part)

Fourth Grade Class 


  • The class will continue working on 1,2 and 3 fingers on E,A,D and G strings






  • The class will read and play the first 4 measurements of "Ode to Joy"
  • The students will practice the Discovery Song (Bridge part).
  • The students will clap de rhythmic pattern and will sing the song.


Fifth Grade Class



  • The class will practice fingering position drills on D and G strings 
  • The class will read at first sight 12 measurements of the song Ode to Joy
  • The class will sing the Discovery Song (Bridge part)

  • The students will complete short rhythmic patterns in 4/4 time signature meter using qurter notes

  • The students will read the first 10 measurements of the rhythmic pattern (Second part)
  • The students will practice individually of the C,D,E,F and G notes with the flute

Third Grade Class


  • The class will read and place the notes of the F scale on the staff
  • Divide the class in two groups and fill the absent figures to complete the 4/4 times signature meter of Drill 15 (4 Measurements)
  • The Class will practice the first 8 measurements of the song “My Heart Will Go On”
  • Play with the Xylophone the 6 measurements of the Drill 9 from Xylophone Method.
  • Read the rhythmic patterns (6 measurements) of Drill 15 at first sight


Fourth Grade Class 

  • The class will play the song Boil`em Cabbage Down (3rd and 4th systems)







  • .The class will read at first sight the 8 measurements of the song  part 
  • The students will practice bow management and direction.
  •  The class will create 20 measurements of rhythmic patterns using eighth and sixteenth notes using 4/4 Time signature meter

KINDER

  • Play the song with minor pecussion instruments




FIRST GRADE

  • The students will sing the song " Do you hear what I hear" (Second part) 
  • The students will learn the actions for the song.
  • The students will review on the staff Do, Re Mi, Fa,Sol,La ,and Ti notes
  • The students will play rhythmic patterns using quarter and Eight Notes and 3/4 time Signature Meter 


SECOND GRADE

  • Play a song using the F and G notes and quarter, and eighth notes as musical figures with Xylophones and Recorder flute
