THIS WEEK IN MUSIC CLASS...




WELCOME TO A NEW WEEK!









IMPORTANT INFO: 



CHOIR PRACTICE TODAY AND WEDNESDAY FROM 3:00-4:00 P.M. ABSH IS AROUND THE CORNER!




INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION SCHEDULE

The day will begin with a Potluck Desayuno Catracho in each homeroom (anticipated thanks to all the parents for pitching in) from 8:00 to 8:50 a.m.

The students will then travel to four different workshop / stations:

9:00 - 9:40 a.m. Art Exhibition - Parents are welcome to visit and enjoy the replicas our students have made of famous Honduran painters’ masterpieces. Our Elementary students will present replicas of Arturo Lopez Rodezno and Moises Becerra.

9:40 - 10:20 a.m. Painting Workshop - The students will paint a ceramic traditional item. A huge THANKS goes to our DPTO for donating the pieces that our students will be painting on that day!
10:20 - 11:00 a.m. Honduran Dancing - The children will participate in an interactive activity where they will learn fun steps to traditional Honduran dances.
11:00 - 11:40 a.m. Traditional Games - The will wrap up the day enjoying many of the traditional games that are played by children in Honduras.


This is an Early Dismissal Day, students will be leaving the school at 11:40 a.m. 

INDEPENDENCE DAY HOLIDAY - We want to remind everyone that in observance to the
Independence of Honduras, there will be no school on Friday, September 14 and
Monday; September 17. Classes resume on Tuesday. Enjoy your holiday!

GENERAL ASSEMBLY - Please remember to mark your calendars for Saturday, September 22 at 9:00 a.m. when we will host an Informational General Assembly. Child care will be provided for those who need it. We hope you can come and support this event.





NURSERY


  • The student will be able to:
  • Play the beat of the song “Mary Had a Little Lamb”  (Part 2)
  • Sing the Song El Cusuco"
  • Identify Musical notes (Do, re, Mi)
  • Perform the Honduran National Anthem (Chorus Part)




PRE-KINDER




The student will be able to:

  • Play the beat of the song “Pitero”
  • Sing the Pitero (full song)
  • Sing the Honduran national Anthem (Part 7)
  • Read the notes by colors (Mi,So, Si)





KINDER




The student will be able to : 


  • Play the Rhythm of the song “Los Inditos” (First part)
  • Read the notes by colors (mi,fa,sol,la)
  • Walk with the beat of the songs 
  • Walk with the rhythm saying the words. 
  • Learn about the instruments of the class

FIRST GRADE


The students will be able to:

  • Sing the Honduran National Anthem (Chorus Part 7)
  • Create small melodic patterns using a variety of sound sources.
  • Perform the full part of the song “Los Olingos” with Tambourines (Part 1)
  • Locate do,mi,sol on the staff



SECOND GRADE



The students will be able to:
  • The students will learn the song “Adios Garcita Morena” (First part)
  • The children will create an accompaniment ostinato for the song using Xylophones  (First part) 
  • The students will sing the Honduran National Anthem (Part 7)

    THIRD GRADE




    The students will be able to:
    • Sing the first part of the song “Las Iguanas”
    • Act the story of the song "Las Iguanas"
    • Perform the Honduran National Anthem (Part 7)


     FOURTH GRADE


    The children will be ble to:

    • Learn the Song “Sos Un Angel” (Part 1)
    • Perform Variation 1 from Song on E (Full version)
    • Discuss about Xique (Honduran Folk Style)

    FIFTH GRADE




    The students will be able to:
    • Sing the Honduran folk song   “Maizales"
    • Play variation 2 from “Song for Sharp” (8 measurements)
    • Create small melodic patterns using a variety of sound sources.
    • Review the notes in lines and spaces
